Effective 29 May 2026. Last updated 29 May 2026.
Introduction
This policy applies to everyone who uses CogniWeave, including individuals, teams, and organisations. It defines what you may and may not do with the service. We will update this policy as our understanding of risks evolves.
You must have the right to ingest your content
Only upload files and documents that you have the legal right to process. This includes ensuring you have appropriate consent, licence, or authority for any third-party material. Do not ingest content that would breach a court order, confidentiality obligation, or contractual restriction.
Do not violate applicable law
Do not use CogniWeave in a way that violates Australian law or the law of any jurisdiction in which you operate. This includes the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth), and any applicable sector-specific regulation.
Do not compromise privacy
Do not ingest personal information about individuals without a lawful basis under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Do not use retrieval outputs to profile, surveil, track, or build dossiers on individuals without their knowledge and consent. Do not use the service to identify individuals from anonymised data in a way that breaches the Australian Privacy Principles.
Do not attempt to breach system security
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's workspace, to CogniWeave's infrastructure, or to any connected system. Do not attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or replicate the underlying model, index, or pipeline. Do not conduct vulnerability testing of CogniWeave systems without prior written authorisation. If you discover a vulnerability, report it under our Responsible Disclosure Policy at /security/disclosure.
Do not use the service to cause harm
Do not ingest or retrieve content for the purpose of harassing, threatening, or defaming any person. Do not use retrieval outputs to spread misinformation or to create fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading communications.
Do not misuse shared infrastructure
Do not engage in activity that places excessive or unreasonable load on the service. Do not use automated scripts to ingest content at volumes that exceed your plan limits without prior agreement.
Enforcement
If we reasonably believe you are in breach of this policy, we may suspend or terminate your access with or without notice. For serious breaches involving potential harm to third parties or illegal activity, we may report the matter to relevant authorities including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the Australian Federal Police.
